某月、某日、１人のジャンバという人間が、東京行きの特急列車に乗り込んだ、彼は高崎で上越新幹線に乗り換えて東京駅まで行く予定だった。彼は、 “東京、東京”、という列車のアナウンスにつられて乗客が下車したので私もおりた。彼は駅の改札をでてあるきはじめた。彼は異変に気がついた。彼がいる場 所は大宮駅のコンコースだった。彼はしかたなく普通列車の切符を買って普通列車にのりこんだ。人々は疲れている様だった。若い女性の腕が彼にさわった。列 車はほぼ満員だった。長いこと列車にゆられて東京駅まできた。そこは核戦争が彼の生まれるずっと前に終了した世界だった、彼は心が読めるようになってい た。次元移動したせいなのか？　　
“あなたが生まれるずっと前に核戦争は終わっていたの。”という少女の問いかけがまず頭に響いてきた。
“それはいつですか？”、“１９７０年代？“、
”―いいえ“、
”１９６０年代？“、
少女はだまった。
”１９５０年代ですか？
"・・・・１９４５年とか・・・？”
“まあそんなところだ。 そばにいる人が代わりにしゃべった。もっとも声は出ていない。突然 彼はにやっとしたのであろうか。だがあるアメリカ人に怒られたようだった。“おまえ、いまにやっ、てしただろう。”そういっている様だった。
“世界は−日本だけが生き残ったのか？“、

“どこでもいい早く。”と不思議な声の主。彼はこの世界の東京の地理はよく知らなかった。まず本屋に行って地図を買う事にした。世界の人達は時時は衛星放 送でテレビを見て嘆いているのであった。アメリカは沙漠に熱い太陽が照り付けている。ヨーロッパは厚い雲に覆われていて飛行機が着陸しようとしてもできな い。雲の下には、黒々とした大地が広がってる。パリやローマに行こうとしても降りられないのでしかたなく引き返してくるのだ。
そして、密かに中国の何処かにか、パリや、ローマとそっくりな街があり・・・そこを、日本人は観光してくるのだ・・・

“ハッチがどうしても開かないんだ！“、脱出口の上に土がかぶさっていてハッチがどうしても開かない…・と。
